Just like going into any other business there are tools you need to equip yourself with. In this article I'm going to give you a run down on everything you will need to start selling beats online. Some of the tools I list are optional and/or there are other options in terms of brand.
1. Beats - First and foremost you will need hot beats before you begin selling them online. I would suggest having no less than 50 beats saved up before you actually begin selling your beats online. You want to give artist a good amount of beats to choose from. 100 + beats are ideal for this type of business. Continue to add more beats to you collection after your up and running online.
2. Domain name - You always want to have a catchy domain name that is easy to remember. Like hotbeats.com. That's easy for artist to remember. Domains are relatively cheap now-a-days. I usually use godaddy.com which charges round 2.99/yr for a domain name.
3. Paypal Acount - This is important because it is how you will receive money. Paypal.com will allow you to instantly accept all major credit cards and other forms of payments online. They are also the most popular online merchant system available. There are pros and cons to using paypal. I know they may not be available in certain countries.
4. Html Editor - An html editor allows you to design and edit webpages. The most popular is Microsoft frontpage because of its user friendly design. You don't need to know how to code in order to pump out a nice looking website. Everything is done visually and hands on. Another good program to check out is Macromedia Dreamweaver. There is a bit of a learning curve, but it can be very powerful.
These are the basic tools you will need in order to start selling beats online. There are a few other tools that may help you along the way, but these are the essential tools you must have.
